Get the Look of a High-End Backsplash for a Fraction of the Price with Black Adhesive Tiles

When it comes to investing in your home, one of the best ways to truly make it your own is through a remodel, particularly if you’re looking to change something major, like the look of your kitchen or bathroom.

And if you’re anything like me, you want the results of that remodel to look as professionally done as possible so that you can be proud of it and show off to all your friends and family. That’s why I was so excited when I found these black adhesive tiles from Tile Stick!

Step 1: Choose Whether to Order Realistic-Looking or Abstract Vinyl Tile

If you want to create your backsplashes look like expensive marble or tile, you can order realistic-looking vinyl tiles from an online retailer. However, if you prefer a more abstract design that doesn’t look as high-end, then go with abstract adhesive tiles.

Choosing vinyl tiles also comes down to deciding between ordering realistic tiling or abstract adhesive tile. If you want your backsplashes to look like marble or tile, then go ahead and order realistic looking vinyl tiles online. On the other hand, if you would prefer to have an abstract design that does not look too high-end then go ahead and purchase this same kind of tiles but in adhesive form.

In terms of choosing whether to order either type, this decision is also about deciding whether you would rather have something that looks very much like what it is pretending to be (marble) or something less convincing (abstract).

Step 2: Measure Your Wall

Measure your wall, starting at the top and working your way down. Measure up from the floor to get your measurements. You’ll want to measure from one end of your wall to the other, including any doorways or windows.

Measure from the corner where two walls meet to see how long they are and then add those numbers together. This will give you an idea of how many tiles you need in total. Now that you know the number of tiles needed, divide that number by 24 (the number of inches per tile). For example: The average height is 8 feet so that would be 8 x 12 inches = 96 inches ÷ 24 = 4 feet. So, you would purchase 12 black adhesive tiles measuring 4 feet each to cover this surface area.

Step 3: Clean Your Surface

After you’ve removed your old backsplash and grout, it’s time to clean your surface. If you have good quality tiles, it is not necessary to wash them again before applying the adhesive tiles. However, if you have any damaged tiles or are unsure about their condition, it is recommended that you thoroughly clean them with soap and water.

Step 4: Position the Vinyl Tile Against Your Wall

  1. Start at one corner and peel off the backing paper, positioning the vinyl tile against your wall. Continue peeling the paper to expose more of the adhesive and aligning it correctly until you get to where you started. Slowly remove any bubbles by pressing them out from beneath or by pulling them up gently. As soon as you are finished, press down firmly on each tile to make sure that they stick well to your surface. You can also use an additional layer of tape along the top edge if necessary.

Step 5: Install Your New Vinyl Tile Backsplash

The new vinyl tile backsplashes are an easy way to give your kitchen or bathroom that high-end look without the high price tag. They can be installed in just a few hours, and will last for years. Plus, they’re durable enough to withstand heavy use from pots and pans, yet soft enough to paint right over when you want to change things up in a year or two!
